The blue whale
The Blue Whale is possibly the mightiest example of the modern whale. It's continued evolution has made it very large to survive in cold water; it has also developed a very specific method of eating. The Blue Whale along with other Baleen Whales developed baleen plates instead of teeth. These plates, located in the mouth are very bristly and are used as filters to the whales mouth, enabling them to swim through huge swarms of fish, consuming only the smaller organisms.
Another amazing point of both the Blue and modern whale’s evolution is their ability to communicate. Whales produce an array of sounds and through evolutions tailoring they use these sounds to communicate for reproduction (with individual calls within species), and other essential tasks.
